Gift Card

A gift card is a prepaid card that can be used as a means of payment in a specific shop, a chain of shops, or on online platforms. Gift cards are popular as gifts, as they allow the recipient to choose the products or services they wish to purchase, within the value prepaid on the card.

Creating a Gift Card

Creating a gift card involves the process of designing and issuing a gift card that can be used as a means of payment in a specific shop or on an online platform.

From Invu 

The steps are:

Access the Invu POS Menu

Item Generation (Note: The main fields to create the Gift Card).

• Enter Item Data
• Card Code
• Name
• Name in e-commerce
• Subcategory
• E-commerce subcategory
• Type of item

Linking the item to Clau.io.

• Access to the Dashboard.
• Go to the Configuration section.
• Select External Connections and API Key.
• Configure the Invu POS option.
• Activate the options:
  • Import Automatic Invu POS.
  • Import Multibranch Automatic Invu POS.

Configuration of Automatic Tasks in Clau.io.

• Access the Automatic Tasks Tab.
• Select the Enable Gift Card option.
  • Step 1: Choose the Scheduled Task Trigger.
    • Select a title for the task.
    • Choose the When Making a Purchase option.
    • Click Continue.  
  • Step 2: Choose the Conditions the Trigger Must Meet.
    • Select the option All.
    • Choose Purchase Product SKU.
    • In the box that will open:
      • Choose the Equal to operator.
      • Enter the value, which is the card code entered in Invu POS.
      • Add the condition. 
    • Click Continue.  
  • Step 3: Choose the Actions the Task will Perform
    • Select Send Gift Card by e-mail.
    • Fill in the fields in the box that will appear in the center:
      1. Value.
      2. Image URL.
      3. Type.
      4. Expiration date.
      5. Email subject.
      6. Email subject.
      7. Check the send mail to destination field.
      8. Add action.
      9. Review and Save Task.
    • Review all the task settings.
    • Click Save.  

From Clau.io

The steps are:

1. Access the Gift Card Tab
   • Access the Clau.io Dashboard.
   • Once inside, look at the bottom of the menu and select the Gift Cards tab. 
2. Generate Gift Card
   • In the gift cards section, choose the Create Gift Card icon. 
3. Assign a Code
   • Enter the unique code for the gift card (Note: This code is what users will enter to redeem the card).
4. Select the Type
   • Select the option that best suits the venue's needs. (Note: These types are: Reloadable, single use, single value, reloadable without showing balance).
5. Upload Image
   • Upload the image that will be used as the logo for the gift card. 
6. Assign the Value
   • The total amount of money that the card will have.
7. Expiration Date
   • In this field, you define an expiry date for the gift card (Note: This determines until when the card will be valid).
8. Add a Branch (Optional)
   • If you have multiple branches, you can assign the gift card to a specific branch (Note: This can be useful if you only want the card to be valid at a particular location).
9. Click Create Gift Card
   • After reviewing the information, press the Create Gift Card button to complete the process. The card will be generated in the system and is ready to be distributed or sold to customers. 

Gift Card Type

This refers to the various sorting options or categories available to select from on the gift card.

• Reloadable: A card that can be reloaded with additional funds at any time.
• Single Use: A card that can only be used once until the balance is depleted.
• Single Value: A card that has a fixed value and cannot be reloaded.
• Reloadable without Balance Display: A reloadable card where the balance is not automatically displayed at the point of sale.

Buy Gift Card

The process where the customer obtains a gift card that can be used to purchase goods or services in a physical or virtual shop. Due to its flexibility and convenience, this type of card is a popular choice for gifts.

1. Select Gift Card.
   • Choose Gift Card.
   • Add to Cart.
2. Proceed to Checkout.
   • View Shopping Cart.
   • Choose Payment Method.
   • Confirm Payment.
3. Email with Redemption Code:
   • Review Email
     • Redemption Code: This email will include the code to use with the card.
       • QR Code (Optional)

Redeem Gift Card

The procedure by which the value stored on a gift card is used to purchase products or services. This process involves presenting the card, either digitally or physically, at the time of purchase, so that its value is deducted from the total cost of the transaction.

1. Make the Purchase.
2. Select the Clau.io Gift Card as the Payment Method.
3. Enter the Redemption Code.  
4. Continue with the usual payment method.

Check Gift Card Balance

This is the process of checking and determining the amount of credit on the prepaid card. This procedure makes it possible to determine the amount of money available for future purchases, plan spending, and ensure the ability to use the card to its maximum value before it expires.

1. Log in to your Clau.io profile.
2. Select the "Gift Card" field.  
3. Review all Gift Cards, their respective balances and expiration date.
