Applies to the Invu Report 3.10.1 app for iPhone and Android, and to the Invu Admin Panel. Labels are shown as they appear when the app or panel is in English.
Most important:
- You log in with an Admin Panel user (its Username and password). The app has no users of its own.
- The app shows what has already reached the Invu server. Anything a POS has not uploaded yet does not appear.
- Each day is counted from the Business Closing Time? setting, not from midnight to midnight.
1. Which user do I need for the app
- Any active panel user works. If you do not have one, an administrator creates it in Settings > Users and Roles > Users > Create User.
- There is no special role or permission for the app. The user's role does not change what you see in Invu Report.
- What matters is the user's branch (field User to Branch):
- a branch user sees that branch's data;
- a user of a franchise's head office sees all its branches.
- Reports-only user: create the user with Allowed to Login on Invu Admin? set to No. They will not enter the panel, but they can use Invu Report. Keep in mind this user can also log in to the POS.
- The user's Status must be Active.
2. Logging in
- Open Invu Report and type your Username and Password.
- Tap Sign In.
If you logged in on this phone before, Continue also shows, to go back to the last account.
Login messages:
- "INVALID USER": that username does not exist. Use the panel Username, not the email.
- "INVALID PASSWORD": the password is wrong.
- "Error" with no detail: the user is inactive, the business account is suspended, or there is no connection.
- Forgot the password: recover it from the panel login page. The new one also works in the app. See "Olvidé mi contraseña o mi usuario de Invu (Panel, POS e Invu Report) - cómo recuperar el acceso".
3. Several accounts, branches and dates
- Another account or business: in the menu, New Session adds another account and Change Session switches between them (Select an account). To remove an account, swipe it left. Logout removes the current account.
- Branch: tap Change Branch and choose a branch or All Branches. If a screen says "You must select a branch", tap Select Branch.
- Compare branches: swipe the main dashboard to View Branches to see a table per branch.
- Dates: use the Today, Yesterday, Week and Month buttons, or Date range (From, To, Apply).
4. Currency
The app shows amounts with the currency symbol set on the account you logged in with. There is no button to change the currency.
- If your franchise has branches in countries with different currencies, do not add up the All Branches amounts. Check each branch separately, in its own currency.
- To see a branch in its own currency, log in with a user of that branch (New Session).
5. What the app shows
- Home and General: Sales, Orders Total, Ticket Average, payments by Cash, Cards, Check and Other, Open Orders, Deleted Orders, Credit Notes, Partial NC, Total Discounts, Tip, service charges (RC) and Total diners.
- Items: products sold in the chosen dates.
- Staff: employee activity, such as clock-ins and clock-outs.
- Chat: an AI Assistant you can ask about your sales, for example "What is today's total sales?".
For more detailed reports, use the panel. See "Cómo encontrar y usar los reportes del Panel Administrativo".
6. Why the app shows zero sales
- The POS has not uploaded the sales. A POS without internet (red bar) keeps selling but uploads nothing until the connection is back. Check the POS internet and wait a few minutes.
- You chose another branch or other dates. Check Change Branch and the date button.
- It is still early in the business day. The day starts at the Business Closing Time? (section 8).
- The user belongs to another branch. A branch user does not see the other branches' sales (section 1).
- The phone has no connection. You see "No internet connection" or "Por favor verifique su conexión a internet". Check the phone's data or Wi-Fi.
7. "Open orders" that do not exist in the POS
The app counts as open the orders that the server still has open within the chosen dates. This usually happens when:
- a POS closed or paid orders without internet and has not uploaded them yet;
- orders were left open on another device, or on one that was turned off or reinstalled;
- orders from earlier days were left open within the date range.
What to do:
- Check that every POS has internet and wait a few minutes: POS devices upload open orders every 10 minutes.
- In the POS, tap the order header: Saved in Invu: Yes means it is already on the server.
- Compare with "Reportes: Órdenes Abiertas" in the panel. If the order is still there and does not exist on any POS, write to us.
8. Why it does not match the panel
- Business day: the app builds each day from the Business Closing Time? (in the panel, Settings > System > Settings). If you filter the panel from 00:00 to 23:59, the numbers change. Compare using the same dates and the business day.
- When you checked: the app loads data when you open it or change the date. Anything a POS uploaded later does not show until you check again.
- Different total: compare the same figure. Sales does not include Open Orders or Deleted Orders, and tips and service charges are shown separately.
- Branch or currency: make sure you are on the same branch and are not adding up different currencies (section 4).
9. "Your session is invalid." or "no permissions" after updating the app
When it opens, the app checks whether the phone is still authorized. If an administrator deactivated it, you see "Your session is invalid." and the app goes back to the login screen.
- Sign In again with your user. If the account still has room for more devices, the phone is activated again.
- If it logs you out again, an administrator must check Settings > System > Information > Secondary Applications tab. In the Application column, look for "Invu Report".
- To activate the phone, tap Activate Device.
- To free up room, remove old phones with Deactivate Device.
After reinstalling the app, or updating the phone's operating system, the phone may show up as a new device. If the account has reached its device limit, deactivate the old entries for that same phone.
If what fails is the Chat microphone, the message asks you to allow the microphone and speech recognition in the phone settings.
10. When to write to support
- The app still shows zero or open orders that do not exist, and every POS has had internet for more than 10 minutes.
- You see "Your session is invalid." even though the phone shows as active in Secondary Applications.
- A head office user does not see all of the franchise's branches.
Send:
- the business name and branch;
- the username (never the password);
- whether the phone is an iPhone or Android;
- the dates you checked, and a screenshot of the app and of the same report in the panel.
